In the summer of 1939, the Japan and the Soviet Union fought a short, but bitter conflict over a disputed section of the Manchurian-Mongolian border. It gave the Japanese military a stinging defeat and led to changes within the Japanese ruling circles that ultimately led Japan on the road to Pearl Harbor. The conflict at Nomonhan grew out of the running conflict between Russia and Japan over influence in China and Mongolia, especially Manchuria, the northeastern-most part of China. Manchuria was rich in grain, coal and iron, and was also blessed with warm water ports, eagerly coveted by the Russians for their Pacific fleet. In the Russo-Japanese War (1904-05) the Japanese humiliated the Russians, driving them from the richest parts of Manchuria. It was the turn of the Japanese to be humiliated at the hands of General Zhukov, the Soviets used the lessons learned in this conflict to defeat the Germans, the Japanese did not learn any lessons and went on to an even bigger humiliation at the hands of the USA. Zhukov went on to use these tactics against the Germans and routed them all the way to Berlin and victory, unfortunately he spent his final years of his life in Siberia....apparently he was too successfull and liked by all in the armed forces. Features inclued: Breakable brushes; door barracades (can be knifed, shot, exploded) Windows (can be knifed, shot, exploded) Dynamic Objects; Corrugated Sheeting. ====================================================================== Game : Call of Duty 5 Supported Gametypes : CTF : Deathmatch : Domination : Headquarters : Team Deathmatch : Search and Destroy Map Size : large Mod tested Ok : ====================================================================== Contents of this Package : mp_82ab_nomonhan.ff mp_82ab_nomonhan_load.ff localized_mp_82ab_nomonhan.ff mp_82ab_nomonhan.iwd ====================================================================== Installation Instructions: Place the mp_82ab_nomonhan folder within your USERMAPS folder used on the server/local PC; **MUST HAVE HIDDEN FILES & FOLDER ON** Where to find USERMAPS folders: XP: DRIVE_LETTER:/Documents and Settings/YOUR_USERNAME/Local Settings/Application Data/Activision/CoDWaW/ Vista: DRIVE_LETTER:/Users/YOUR_USERNAME/AppData/Local Data/Activision/CoDWaW/ Note: For server admin on non-dedicated/shared server, contact the GSP to check how to. ====================================================================== Construction Time : Brushes : Decals : Models : Lights : ====================================================================== Credits/Thanks : Thanks to Treyarch for providing the tools/assets, and Mappers United for their tutorials and wiki which are excellent.
